Nico Williams has been on the lips of many due to his standout performances with Spain at Euro 2024, with numerous European teams eyeing the young talent.
Barcelona has been touted as a next major destination for the Athletic Club attacker, factoring his electric performances with youngster Lamine Yamal.
Blaugrana faithfuls have voiced their wish to see a flank pairing of Williams and Yamal, which has been dazzling and effective for Spain which has aided La Roja to the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament.
A boost to fans of the club is the recent comments of Laporta.
“I like Nico, a lot. I can say that financially we can make it happen.
“It’s result of work that has been done over all these years to reach this point. We could, of course, face a signing of this level,” he said in a chat with Catalunya Radio.
It is reported that Williams has a release clause in his contract at the New San Mames.
However, Laporta also made it known that Deco and Flick will also be part of the decision making if Williams is brought to the club.
