Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag insists he retains the backing of the club’s owners following their 0-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag’s men went behind just three minutes into the contest after Micky van de Ven ran the full length of the pitch easily to find an unmarked Brennan Johnson who taped home.
Goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke in the second half completed the rout in front of the Red Devils backyard.
Following the display, Ten Hag dismissed talk of his job security, stating he still has the support of the hierarchy.
“No, I am not thinking about this,” he said.
“We all made in togetherness this decision to stay together, as ownership, as a leadership group, in the summer. We also knew it would take some time.
“I think we will get better. And we all are there on one page, in one boat together, the ownership, the leadership group, the staff and the players group as well. So no, I don’t have that concern.”
The loss left United — who had their worst-ever eighth in the Premier League last season in eighth — in 12th place after six games.
It was also their second successive 3-0 home league defeat after they lost to Liverpool on September 1st, and thousands of fans had a hasty exit from Old Trafford well before the final whistle.
