Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged by the Metropolitan Police Service with one count of sexual assault and five counts of rape.
Three of the counts of rape are associated to one woman, two are associated to a second woman, and the one count of sexual assault is tagged to a third woman.
They are reported to have occurred between 2021 and 2022 – as the Ghanaian will now appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5.
“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives,” the statement read.
“The Met has issued a charge and requisition to Thomas Partey, 32 [13/06/1993], of Hertfordshire, in connection with the following offences: Five counts of rape, One count of sexual assault.”
Partey had just left Arsenal at the start of the month after his contract with the club expired.
