Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has penned a new contract extension that will keep him in the dugout until Euro 2024, as announced by the Spanish Football Federation on Monday.
The 63-year-old will be with La Roja beyond the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico – and head into the European Championship in Britain and Ireland.
Under De la Fuente, Spain won all seven matches en route to lifting the title with a 2-1 triumph in the final against England.
De la Fuente started his coaching career with Spain, tutoring the youth teams in 2013, starting with the U-19s before a silver medal win with the U-23 side at the Tokyo Olympics.
He was announced as the gaffer of the senior team in 2022, guiding them to the Nations League trophy a year later.
