The injury situation at Liverpool is of growing concern as manager Arne Slot confirmed he will be without yet another key player ahead of their torrid fixture list.
Diogo Jota has netted four goals across 10 games in all competitions for the Reds this season but has not featured since a chest injury in the win against Chelsea.
Ahead of the fourth round League Cup clash at Brighton and Hove Albion, Slot was quizzed about the status of the attacker and whether he would return before the November international break and he simply said “no”.
Slot also provided an update on Federico Chiesa, hinting he could be facing a long-term sideline.
“It’s always difficult to say because he goes a bit up and down so sometimes he’s there with us and trains a few days and then goes out for an injury again,” Slot said of the Italian who has made just three appearances since joining.
“I don’t want to put days or weeks on it because I think we just have to make sure he gets in the best possible shape and don’t put any pressure on him.”
Liverpool are still without goalkeeper Alisson (hamstring) and Harvey Elliott (foot) until after the international break but Slot provided a bit of goodnews as defender Conor Bradley could feature on Wednesday, after a return to full training.
