Chelsea gaffer Enzo Maresca insisted he still has the backing of club’s hierarchy despite raised eyebrows from supporters of the club.
Despite booking their place in the last four of the Conference League, boos echoed round Stamford Bridge following the end of the 2-1 second leg quarter final loss to Legia Warsaw.
After a run of six wins in 17 games, the Blues could also fall out of the top five in the Premier League if Nottingham Forest avoid a loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
“Absolutely yes, no doubt,” said Maresca when quizzed whether he felt support from the club’s hierarchy, who have sacked three managers in less than three years in charge at Chelsea.
“We have spent almost all season in a Champions League spot. We are in a European semi-final. So why now we need to change something?
“I don’t have any doubt about what we are doing and the way we are doing.
“For different reasons, we had setbacks like (against Legia), but for me, this makes us stronger for the future.”
