Barcelona have bolstered their attacking options with the arrival of England attacker Marcus Rashford.
The Englishman’s relationship with Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim had turned sour, which set up a loan move to Aston Villa during the winter transfer window.
After then, Rashford was informed that he has no future with the club which has led to a move to Catalonia.
Also, an agreement has been sealed with Man United for loan with €30 million buy clause – and €14 million gross salary covered by Barça.
Rashford’s wages will also will be covered for the duration of the loan and it is also reported that he has taken a 25 per cent pay cut to join the Spanish giants.
“Very excited. I think it’s a club where people’s dreams come true. They win big prizes. And what the club stands for really means a lot to me as well. So it feels like I am at home,” Rashford said to reporters following his unveiling.
“Another factor is because the conversations I had with the manager [Hansi Flick] were positive. What he did last season was terrific. To lead such a young team to a very successful season and come back to pre-season and still want to do more, it shows me everything I thought I knew about the club and it’s everything I wished.”
However, Barcelona are currently unable to register Rashford to compete in LaLiga, although he is able to train and play in non-competitive games.
LaLiga’s financial rules state clubs can only spend as much as they earn, meaning Barça must find other revenue streams or make player sales to fit in their new signings.
