Manchester United have an important 2024-25 season ahead of them and they have been busy in the transfer market. Having retained the services of manager Erik ten Hag and rewarding the Dutchman with a new deal, the club’s INEOS hierarchy have made several notable changes.
First is the addition of club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake to the coaching backroom staff – with also the likes of Omar Berrada and Dan Ashworth running things behind the scenes.
The Red Devils are also looking to beef up their playing personnel ahead of the season.
However, the FA Cup winners have seen their £50million proposal for defender Jarred Branthwaite, rejected by Everton.
The new proposal was a £45million fixed fee plus £5million add-ons — which is seen as far from Everton’s valuation of the player.
The Merseyside outfit are reportedly seeking a £65/70million fee, which has made an agreement far from reaching a conclusion.
It has been suggested that Branthwaite is keen on moving to Old Trafford with personal terms not an issue as the final say depends on the clubs.
Despite being far from an agreement for Branthwaite — United are reported to be very close to securing the signings of Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee.
