Jadon Sancho resumed training with Manchester United for the first time in 10 months, with reports confirming the attacker and manager Erik ten Hag have settled on their issues following their public conflict last year.
It was said that Sancho and Ten Hag met at Carrington Training Centre and the pair had a positive meeting and decider to put a barrier with what transpired last season, according to a club source.
Sancho featured just thrice for United last term and spent the second half of the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after his relationship with Ten Hag hit a low point.
The Dutch manager had left the 24-year-old out of the team for the Red Devils’ 3-1 loss to Arsenal, stating that Sancho’s performances in training made him undeserving of a place in the team — this prompted Sancho to immediately respond via social media, insisting of Ten Hag singling him out as a “scapegoat”.
The Englishman was then banished from the first team, training with the club’s youth side before returning to his former team in Germany in January and he stood out once more, most notably in the semi-final triumph against Paris Saint-Germain with a performance which received praise from Ten Hag.
“[Sancho] is a very good player… he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed he represents a high value for Manchester United, which is good,” Ten Hag said to the journalists following Dortmund’s 1-0 win over PSG in the first leg.
“I’m happy for Jadon, for the performance, and we’ll see what is going to happen in the future.”
Sancho will not travel with the team to Norway for their pre-season kickoff against Rosenborg since he resumed training later than the other players but reports also suggested he would be available for selection after that.
