It has not been the best of seasons for Manchester United in the Premier League and with the risk of possibly missing out on Champions League football next season, Erik ten Hag is on a literal hot seat.
The Dutchman’s side are winless in six of their last seven Premier League games and Saturday’s 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth was another dent in United’s top four hopes.
Aside from the result, there was drama on social media as Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho reacted to a post slamming his manager of his skills after he took him off in the game.
The Argentine forward liked post on X by Mark Goldbridge, which read;
“Garnacho has been one of our best players this season. Poor first half, but, taking him off at halftime and holding him up as the problem is a joke. Many have done much worse week in week out and are still out there.”
“Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post match press conference.. not a good look throwing a 19-year-old under the bus, who has actually delivered for you this season. But then again he’s clearly scared of upsetting the big earners.”
Added to the controversy on social media was Ten Hag storming out of his press conference when asked about Man United potentially finishing in their worst Premier League position ever.
The former Ajax manager made it known he was not going to answer the question and then leaving journalists in his post match presser.
