Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has completed a transfer to AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season, as announced by both clubs on Friday.
The Italian giants also announced in a statement that they also have an option to buy, which will cost around £4.2million.
The 34-year-old featured 319 times for the Cityzens, with his last appearance coming in the 4-1 Premier League triumph against West Ham United on January 4.
A week later, Walker was left out of City’s team for the FA Cup 8-0 thrashing against Salford, with gaffer Pep Guardiola revealing he had asked to “explore his options to play abroad”.
The Englishman, who switched to Man City from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017, had a year and a half left on his deal at the Etihad after signing a three-year extension in 2023.
Walker has been a mainstay in all of Guardiola’s six Premier League triumphs.
Although, this season has been quite difficult for the Manchester side who are in danger of exiting the UEFA Champions League and they also sit in fifth on the Premier League standings.
Walker has 93 appearances for England and was also the only player named in the Euro 2024 team of the tournament after playing every minute in Germany as the Three Lions finished second.
City have been busy in the transfer market, along with Walker’s departure, they have signed Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov.
