Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann has penned a contract extension until the European Championship in 2028, the German Football Association [DFB] confirmed on Friday.
The 37-year-old, who took charge in September 2023, tutored Germany to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
The former Bayern Munich gaffer’s initial contract was to expire in the 2026 World Cup, hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Nagelsmann was the national team’s second youngest coach when he took up the role at the age of 36.
“When I came to the DFB in September 2023, I could not have imagined being a national coach beyond the home Euro,” Nagelsmann said in a statement.
“This great feedback that we all receive every day, shows us that our journey together is on the right path. We want to win titles together,” he said.
