Liverpool star Mohamed Salah put on another brilliant display in the 2-0 won against Premier League champions Manchester City, to establish a nine-point lead at the summit of the log but more concerns over his future was a hot topic after the game.
The 32-year-old creatively picked out Cody Gakpo for the Reds’ opener and ensured a seal of the maximum points after slotting a penalty in the second half to equal Wayne Rooney’s of scoring and assisting in 36 league games.
Although, Salah will be without a contract at the club at the end of the season and the Merseyside giants are yet to offer him a new deal.
“Honestly, it’s in my head. Until now this is the last Man City game I will play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it,” he said to Sky Sports while being quizzed about his contract situation and the victory.
“The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.”
Salah has netted 224 goals for Liverpool from 369 games and despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, he continues to deliver the goods for the club since his transfer in 2017.
“It’s very special. I don’t take it for granted. I’m enjoying every minute here. It feels like home.
“It’s always a special feeling scoring at Anfield and winning games,” Salah added.
