Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has rubbished talk suggesting the Arsenal players are scared of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday.
City have been perfect in the league so far, winning all their games, while the Gunners have recorded three wins and a draw.
The Cityzens’ 24-year-old goal machine, Haaland has been on a rampage this season, netting nine goals including two hat-tricks just four games into the season.
Aiming to take his tally to a century, as he has netted 99 in 103 games, the Norwegian and his teammates next battle Inter Milan in the Champions League before their date with Mikel Arteta’s charges at the Etihad.
“Erling scoring again… it is starting to make us laugh,” the Italian said.
“We look because we watch all the games and we love the Premier League.
“We watch (City) as well, which is normal. It doesn’t get to our head. We need to focus on us and that is what we are trying to do.”
Jorginho also praised Arsenal’s mentality, saying it has improved since last season, highlighting their hard-fought 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur despite missing key players like captain Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.
“You learn more about each other… everyone wants to improve and wants the best for the team. When you put the team in first place I think just good things can happen.
“Keep believing in what you are doing. I think we are on the right way,” he added.
Arsenal finished second in the league last season, winning 1-0 at home and drawing 0-0 away in their league meetings with champions City.
