Arne Slot and Liverpool have been keenly watched and monitored as they are yet to make a single signing in the transfer window in the post Jurgen Klopp era.
The Reds are now reportedly exploring a move for a new midfielder, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Merseyside outfit are now said to be interested in Martin Zubimendi, who was among the victorious Spain team who lifted Euro 2024.
It has also been reported that the Real Soceidad midfielder is at the top of the shortlist for as the first signing for Slot.
Romano also noted that contacts have taken place but it seemingly will not be an easy deal as Zubimendi has a €60million release clause.
Zubimendi has been previously eyed by Barcelona and Liverpool’s Premier League rivals, Arsenal.
